| Description | A polyphenolic flavonoid with diverse biological activities; scavenges singlet oxygen and hydrogen peroxide as well as superoxide and hydroxide radicals in vitro (IC50s = 0.73, 0.49, 14.5, and 38.0 μM, respectively); inhibits the growth of OVCAR-3 and A2780/CP70 human ovarian cancer cell lines, but not the ovarian epithelial cell line IOSE 364 (IC50s = 11.9, 38.5, and >40 μM, respectively); in a rat model of type VIII collagenase-induced ICH, pretreatment attenuates the ICH-induced increase in levels of IL-1β, IL-18, TNF-α, IFN-γ, TGF-β, and ROS in the brain at 50 mg/kg; attenuates the ICH-induced increase in the percentage of right turns in a corner test and improves paw placement scores in rats at 50-100 mg/kg prior to ICH induction |
