| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE gel, HPLC). Human BAFF (for B cell activating factor belonging to the TNF family) is a newly discovered novel ligand of the TNF family. BAFF plays an important role as costimulator of B cell proliferation and function. Recombinant Human BAFF is a soluble 17kD protein containing 153 amino acid residues, comprising the TNF-like extra-celluar domain of BAFF. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human BAFF, expressed in E. coli. Biological Activity: Assay #1: Determine by the dose-dependent stimulation of IL-8 production by human PBMC. The expected ED50 for this effect is 5-10ng/ml. Note: Results may vary with PBMC donors. Assay #2: Determined by a mouse splenocyte survival assay.
