| Description | Marker for MHC class II-restricted T-cells. Monoclonal antibody EDU-2 recognizes the CD4 antigen. CD4 is a glycoprotein expressed on the surface of T helper cells, regulatory T-cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is mainly expressed by the T lymphocyte subset that recognizes antigens associated with self MHC class II molecules. CD4 is the primary receptor for HIV retroviruses.
