It effectively blocks NF-κB activity in multiple breast cancer cell lines and abrogates NF-κB-dependent mammosphere formation, indicating that DMF has anti-cancer stem cell properties. In addition, DMF inhibits cell proliferation and significantly impairs xenograft tumor growth.
