Some examples of 17-Ketosteroids include androsterone, androstanedion, dehydroepiandrosterone, epiandrosterone, and epietiocholanone. Elevated 17-Hydroxycorticosteroids concentrations may indicate Cushing syndrome, imbalance of sex hormones in females (polycystic ovary syndrome), ovarian cancer, and testicular cancer in men while abnormally low concentrations may aid in diagnosing Addison disease, kidney damage, and hypopituitarism.
