| Description | The Ansh Labs' Oxyntomodulin (OXM) ELISA is a quantitative two-step sandwich immunoassay. OXM causes weight loss via suppression of food intake and increase in energy expenditure. OXM administration was also reported to increase heart-rate in mice. Besides regulating glucose homeostasis in monogastric animals, OXM also increases the concentration of insulin and glucose in plasma of Holstein cattle under normal physiological conditions. It has been shown that Type 2 diabetes patients have lower levels of OXM and levels increase more than 10-fold after gastric bypass surgery. OXM is therapeutically used to lower glucose levels and suppress appetite resulting in weight loss. Total 2 hour incubation at RT. Wide dynamic range of 3-290 pg/mL. Sensitive to 0.243 pg/mL. Monoclonal antibody pair used in the assay detects human, bovine, equine, canine, rabbit, goat, sheep, mouse, squirrel and monkey OXM and does not cross-react to other closely related analytes. |
