| Description | Product Specifications [Leu24][Ala31]IGF-I: [Leu24][Ala31]IGF-I is an analog of human IGF-I with a substitution of Leu for Tyr at position 24 and an Ala for Tyr at position 31 of the human IGF-I sequence. [Leu24][Ala31]IGF-I has greatly reduced binding to the Type 1 IGF receptor compared to IGF-I, and a lower affinity than [Leu24]IGF-I or [Leu60]IGF-I. However [Leu24][Ala31]IGF-I has normal binding to acid-stripped human serum binding proteins. Consequently [Leu24][Ala31]IGF-I is an extremely useful analog of IGF-I for investigating IGF actions largely independent of binding to the Type 1 IGF receptor. Source: [Leu24][Ala31]IGF-I is produced recombinantly as a fusion protein in E.coli using a patented expression system. The fusion protein containing [Leu24][Ala31]IGF-I is refolded, and after the leader peptide is removed, the [Leu24][Ala31]IGF-I product is purified to Receptor Grade using several chromatography steps.Purity: > 95% (as determined by HPLC and N-terminal sequence analysis)Molecular weight:Theoretical : 7507 daltons.
