| Description | This polyclonal antibody is directed against human Elastase and is an IgG fraction purification. Elastase is an enzyme that specifically breaks down elastin. Elastase is also important in the immune system as it can exist as a neutrophil elastase and macrophage elastase. During infection, neutrophils release elastase to break down bacteria and host tissue. Produced in the pancreas of mammals, Elastase is useful in the detection of disease and function of the pancreas through fecal material.
