| Description | NMDAR1 Monoclonal Antibody (54.1). N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) type receptors are glutamate-gated ion channels that possess high-calcium permeability and voltage-dependent sensitivity to magnesium, and play a central role in brain function and disease. Activation of NMDA receptors, in the presence of NMDA, glutamate, and glycine, leads to elevations in synaptic calcium levels, initiating a series of calcium-dependent signaling events including activation of nitric oxide synthase, stimulation of calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase, and MAP kinase cascades.
