CD278, also know as ICOS, is a type I transmembrane protein, member of the CD28/CTLA-4 family, present in the cell surface as an homodimer of 47-57 kD. ICOS is expressed in activated T cells where it has a pivotal role in T cell activation, proliferation and Th1/Th2 differentiation and the antibody response; its ligand is CD275. |
